MFA Press Statement: Visit by Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, 2 to 4 February 2015

Emeritus Senior Minister (ESM) Goh Chok Tong will visit Nay Pyi Taw, the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, from 2 to 4 February 2015.

During his visit, ESM will call on President U Thein Sein and meet Union Parliament Speaker Thura U Shwe Mann, Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, Union Minister in the President’s Office U Soe Thane, Union Minister for Finance U Win Shein, Governor of the Central Bank of Myanmar U Kyaw Kyaw Maung, Chairperson of the Lower House Committee for Rule of Law, Peace and Tranquility in the Myanmar Union Parliament and Chairperson of the National League for Democracy Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, and Vice Chairman of the Union Solidarity and Development Party U Htay Oo.  ESM will also meet Chairman of the Myanmar Investment Commission (MIC) and Union Minister for Energy U Zeya Aung and other members of the MIC during his visit. 

ESM will be accompanied by Minister of State for Trade and Industry Teo Ser Luck, Minister of State for National Development Desmond Lee and officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of National Development, the Ministry of Trade and Industry, the Monetary Authority of Singapore, and International Enterprise Singapore.
